The Singapore-born, New York based designer described her key silhouettes as ‘’sexy and sophisticated’’. Her show reflected her creative vision of a carefree spirit of spring summer. It has a blend of human anatomy, objects and a rather seductive allure weaved in the design with high slits, low backs, and transparencies. Her sensual take on reveal and conceal played a delicate dance between sensuality and sophistication leaving the audience in want for more.

Peter Do’s first collection at Helmut Lang

Peter Do, the creative director for Helmut Lang mentioned in one of this interviews that when he got this job, this first thought was to bring back a luxurious experience for the brand. His collection reflects this wish for people to feel that Helmut Lang clothing offers them a vehicle of freedom.

The collection was power packed with Suit jackets slashed like they were driven over, vintage seat belts re-used as trims and crip shirt worn backwards. As the article in Wallpaper digital mentions, the creative director said: ‘With the new Helmut Lang, I really just want to dress New York,’ he continued. ‘And not just Manhattan – Queens, Brooklyn. Prabal Gurung

He is known as one of the NYFWs most socially conscious designer who has been often noticed to take his shows to bring lights on topics of politics and advocacy. His latest collection is a walk down the memory lane for him to some of his most deep-rooted memories. Some of his patterns are inspired by his grandmother’s wallpaper and clothes are inspired from Nepali and Indian garments – both being part of this growing year.

“It’s about time the West meets the East,” rather than vice versa, he said, noting that he’s observed a shift in “international power dynamics.”

His collection has beautifully pleated pieces, warrior women white looks, tops inspired from angrakha blouses in Rajasthani households and draped pants. He worked with humble fabrics like denim and linen that allowed for new shapes and textures to his designs.
