Our Dean, Nirmaalya B Biswas, takes a virtual seat with one of the co-founders of CaratLane, Avnish Anand, to understand how the brand came to be and what made it a success. In this talk, Mr. Anand also discusses his personal entrepreneurial journey and provides insights into the world of luxury in India.

Avnish Anand has spent most of his professional life in the internet industry – working in both eCommerce and classifieds businesses. Thanks to being part of two start-ups from a very early stage as well as being responsible for setting up new businesses in Times Internet, he has been well-exposed to almost all aspects of building and running different kinds of consumer internet businesses. His responsibilities at CaratLane include digital marketing, product management, international business, growth, customer experience, and sales.
Mr. Anand has also built new internet-based businesses such as TechGig, JobBuzz, and StepAhead. He started Code Gladiators in 2014. It has been recognised as India’s biggest coding competition by the Limca Book of Records. He used to be a prolific sports blogger and contributed to various online and print publications. His primary interest areas are consumer internet, retail and sports businesses.
