Manolo Blahnik was born to a Czech father and a Spanish mother. In 1969, Blahnik met Diana Vreeland, US Vogue’s editor-in-chief, while travelling in New York. He got appreciated and inspired to start designing shoes. He designed shoes for london fashion designers such as Jean Muir and Zandra Rhodes.
