Donatella Francesca Versace is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, socialite, and model from Italy. She is the younger sister of Gianni Versace, the founder of the Versace luxury fashion house, of which she received a portion after her brother died in 1997.
Donatella Versace held her debut Haute couture show for the Versace Atelier at the Hôtel Ritz Paris on July 18, 1998, one year and three days after Gianni’s death. As her brother had done every season, she created her runway over the hotel’s swimming pool, but this time with sheer glass.
