Balenciaga was born in Spain in the year 1895. He started working as a tailor’s apprentice at age twelve. Later he was formally trained in training at Madrid. He opened his first boutique in San Sebastian in the year1919. By 1959 he had earned a reputed, irreplaceable place for himself in the fashion world. In 1960, he made the wedding dress for Fabiola de Mora y Aragón, mistress for king Baudouin I of Belgium. He created designs for Aline Griffith, Meye Allende de Maier, and others.
