KĀDU (pronounced kaa-du) is the first premium wine offering from the Karnataka winery of Sula Vineyards, India’s leading wine producer. The Kādu wines are the most significant launch for Sula in the past 10 years. Kādu, meaning “wild” in Kannada, is also India’s first ‘Wine for a Cause’ as well as India’s first ‘Wildlife Wine’ devoted to the cause of tiger conservation.

Vineyard Visit: The guides explained in-detail about Viticulture and showed us around the vineyards. The vineyard is spread over four acres and produces high-quality grapes used in the production of wines such as Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. It produces around 12,000 kg of grapes a year and produces around 8,000 litres of wine.
Wine Manufacturing Unit: The Wine Manufacturing Unit processes red, white, rose, and sparkling wines through different processes. Students understood the wine-making process in-depth.
Wine Tasting: Students were lined-up with wine glasses and served four types of in-house wines. They were directed to follow the four steps of wine tasting – Smell the aroma, Swirl the wine, Sip, and Swallow.
The visit helped students in understanding the process of wine-making and its supply chain. It also enlightened the students about the corporate culture of the wine industry. But overall, students will agree that the best part of the entire tour was the wine tasting.
